Türkan Ertuna Lagrand is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University in the Department of International and European Law. She specializes in European asylum and immigration law and has a strong interest in equality and non-discrimination law, as well as external relations law within the EU. After defending her Ph.D. thesis in 2010, Türkan spent a year working with a migration NGO and then moved to Brussels, where she served as a foreign policy advisor at the European Parliament from 2011 to 2017. From February 2017 to September 2022, she worked as a Senior Lecturer at Erasmus University College, teaching EU law courses and coordinating the International Law Major. Additionally, she holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Anadolu University, which she obtained in 2024.
