Dr. Tushar Babbar

Biography

Tushar Babbar is the Data Lead at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, University of Oxford, where he builds a digital backbone for cutting-edge research at the intersection of sustainability, climate policy, and enterprise. He leads the design of scalable data infrastructure and sharpens user experience on platforms while ensuring data quality through rigorous governance frameworks. With four years of hands-on experience in data analytics, Tushar brings a rare combination of technical depth, commercial sensibility, and creativity. His journey spans environmental finance, predictive modelling, and data systems optimization, most notably with AlliedOffsets, where he was instrumental in pioneering carbon credit price estimation models and a project liquidity score algorithm. His work enhances market transparency and reshapes how investors evaluate carbon assets. Tushar holds an MSc in Data Analytics from the University of Warwick, a Postgraduate Diploma in Data Science and Business Analytics from the University of Texas at Austin in collaboration with the Great Lakes Institute, and a BSc in Computer Science from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi. He is an active member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and the Institute of Actuaries of India. Beyond academia, Tushar is a competitive athlete—a national-level badminton player in India and currently active in London’s Division 3 badminton league. He served as team leader during the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, overseeing operations for 2,500 attendees and managing a team of 75 volunteers.
