Twan van Hooff is a Full Professor and head of the Building Ventilation chair within the Building Physics research group at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His expertise lies in experimental modeling and numerical simulation of ventilation flows, as well as related heat and mass transfer processes. His research aims to provide healthy and energy-efficient building enclosures. His interests include building and room ventilation, natural ventilation, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) as applied to the built environment, and the impact of environmental conditions in controlled environment agriculture (CEA). Additionally, he studies pedestrian-level wind comfort, wind-driven rain, stadium aerodynamics, and wind energy in the context of climate change adaptation measures at the building scale. Since completing his PhD in 2012, he has been active in various research programs and has published extensively in leading scientific journals. He has served on editorial boards and acted as a reviewer for numerous academic journals and research grants.
