Biography

Tweety Tang is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London, where she instructs students in practical laboratory techniques aimed at enhancing advanced research skills. She oversees the operation and development of laboratory practicals within the department. Before her current position, she was a Postdoctoral Associate in the same department from 2021 to 2023, focusing on organ-on-chip development. Tweety earned her PhD in Biology from the Department of Chemistry at the City University of Hong Kong in 2019, under the supervision of Dr. Yun Wah Lam, and completed her postdoctoral training at the same institution from 2019 to 2021. During her training, she developed novel processes to functionally replicate the instructional topographical signals present in native tissue extracellular matrices through methods like Silica Bioreplication and Thermal Scanning Probe Lithography. Her research interests include the tissue microenvironment, extracellular matrix, biomimicry, regenerative medicine, and antimicrobial peptides.
