Professor Dr. Tyler Denmead

Biography

Tyler Denmead serves as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge and is the executive editor at Queens’ College, where he also acts as the Dean and Director of Studies in Education. His scholarship focuses on education, specifically examining the intersections of race, racism, and power in global systems, particularly within the arts and humanities education. Denmead is passionate about building meaningful and transformative learning communities for students, grounded in core values of mutual respect, collaboration, and the pursuit of knowledge to address social inequities. He has received multiple teaching awards, including the doctoral supervisor title in the UK (2023), the University of Cambridge's 'best lecturer' award (2019), and the Faculty of Education’s Teaching Award (2024). Additionally, the University of Cambridge Student Union recognized him with a 'Student Partnership Empowerment Award' in 2023.
