Tyshawn Sorey’s work spans various musical performance mediums and defies distinctions among musical genres, composition, and improvisation. Currently, he serves as a Composer-in-Residence with Opera Philadelphia and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and he has received several prestigious fellowships and grants.
