Biography

Udo Bach is a full professor at Monash University and serves as the Monash Node Leader for the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science. He earned his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) working with Professor Michael Grätzel. After three years in a technology start-up in Dublin, Ireland, he spent 15 months as a postdoctoral researcher with Professor Paul Alivisatos at UC Berkeley before joining Monash University in November 2005 to establish his own research group. Professor Bach has a strong background in the fields of photovoltaics and nanofabrication, with a focus on fundamental and applied research in perovskite and dye-sensitized solar cells. His additional research interests encompass nanofabrication, DNA-directed self-assembly, nanoprinting, plasmonics, and combinatorial photovoltaic materials discovery.
