Ugljesa Grusic is an Associate Professor of Private International Law at University College London. He joined UCL in September 2016, having previously worked at the University of Nottingham, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the University of Belgrade. He obtained his undergraduate degree in law from the University of Belgrade, an LLM from the University of Nottingham, and a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science as a Wedderburn Scholar. His research addresses a variety of issues within private international law, focusing on European private international law and its relationship with human rights, particularly concerning civil claims against multinational enterprises for human rights violations. He has co-convened modules in Conflict Law and International Arbitration, and he currently supervises PhD students in his area of expertise. Grusic has also served as an advisor and expert witness in court proceedings and has consulted for European Union bodies and policy organizations. He is a member of the International Law Association’s Committee on Business and Human Rights and serves as an editor for the European Association for Private International Law blog.
