Biography

Ulrich Abram is a retired professor at the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Freie Universität Berlin. He completed his diploma in Chemistry in 1982 at the University of Leipzig, followed by a doctoral thesis at the Institute of Nuclear Research Rossendorf. Between 1982 and 1991, he served as a senior scientist at the same institute, obtaining his habilitation in 1990. His academic journey included a prestigious Heisenberg fellowship at the University of Tübingen from 1992 to 1996, where he later became an extraordinary professor. In 2000, he became a professor at the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Freie Universität Berlin, where he directed the institute from 2008 to 2012. He also held important administrative roles, including Vice Dean for Student Affairs from 2013 to 2016 and Dean from 2017 to 2018. His research primarily focuses on Inorganic Chemistry, particularly the chemistry of Technetium, radioactive metals, metal complexes with applications in diverse fields, and organometallic chemistry.
