Ulrika received a Master of Science in Chemistry from Uppsala University in 1996 and was appointed as a scientist at Pharmacia Upjohn. In 1999, she started her dissertation work in Medicinal Chemistry under Professor Anders Hallberg and earned her Doctor of Philosophy from the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2004. Following her graduation, she held a researcher lecturer position in the Division of Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry and in 2007 became a Chemistry Director Scientist at Cardoz AB, a small biotech company involved in preclinical and clinical phases. In 2011, she returned to Uppsala University as a researcher and senior lecturer. Her main research interests encompass the synthesis of peptides and pseudopeptides, novel PET-radiotracers, as well as the design and synthesis of drug-like peptidomimetic enzyme inhibitors.
