Dr. Uma Athale

Biography

Uma Athale is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and a Consultant for McMaster Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences. She completed her MBBS and MD in Pediatrics at the University of Bombay. Dr. Athale has significant experience in the field, having worked for six years at a University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia. She has completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Her academic and clinical pursuits revolve around improving patient outcomes in pediatric care, with a focus on hematological malignancies and oncology treatments for children. She is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, contributing to the development of the next generation of pediatric specialists.
