Dr. Uma Reddy

Biography

Uma M. Reddy, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she also serves as the Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her research focuses on maternal-fetal medicine, specifically groundbreaking studies involving stillbirth, preterm birth, and labor management. Prior to her current role, Dr. Reddy was a Medical Officer at the National Institutes of Health, contributing significantly to clinical services and maternal-fetal health initiatives. She has published over 270 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as NEJM and JAMA. Her educational background includes a medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Additionally, Dr. Reddy completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. She is a respected educator and mentor, and her commitment to advancing women's health is recognized through her selection as a Fellow of the American Gynecological & Obstetrical Society and her participation in the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Program.
