Dr. Uri Avissar

Biography

Uri Avissar, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, where he specializes in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He earned his MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry and completed his Bachelor's degree at Yale University. Avissar completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and pursued a Gastroenterology Fellowship as well as a Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is extensively involved in medical education, serving as Subspecialty Education Coordinator at Boston Medical Center and the Education Director for the Massachusetts Gastroenterology Association. His clinical interests focus on liver disease, liver cancer, and cirrhosis. Dr. Avissar is also a member of the Boston University Evans Center for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research.
