Biography

Uri Hangorsky is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he has been a vital member of the faculty since 1982. He currently serves as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Director of the International Student Exchange program, and Director of Accreditation. With a rich experience teaching periodontics to DMD students, he has also developed the open access course for the University’s Coursera platform. Hangorsky is an active participant in numerous academic committees including the Student Advancement Committee and the Dean’s Advisory Committee. He is associated with prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association and has made significant contributions as a consultant for various dental accrediting bodies. His extensive work in dental education has been recognized with several honors, including the Provost Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Graduate Periodontics Outstanding Teaching Award. He earned his M.S. in Periodontics from Case Western Reserve University and holds additional degrees from Columbia University and McGill University.
