Biography

Ursula K. Heise is a Professor in the Department of English and the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is known for her work in contemporary literature, environmental humanities, and environmental literature from the Americas, Western Europe, and Japan. Heise's recent contributions include serving as co-editor for the forthcoming Routledge Companion to Environmental Humanities and editor for a series on Environmental Narrative published by Palgrave Macmillan. Her research work has earned her recognition, including the BBVA Foundation's Biophilia Award for her advancements in the field of Environmental Humanities.
