Ursula Porod received her PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1993. She has held postdoctoral positions at the University of California, Berkeley and the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton. Porod has taught at Johns Hopkins University and Goucher College before joining the faculty at Northwestern University in 2009. Her research focuses on random walks and compact Lie groups.
