Dr. Urszula Jaremba

Biography

Urszula Jaremba is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University specializing in EU law, with a focus on the application and enforcement of EU law across Member States. She holds a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam, where her doctoral dissertation examined the functioning of national courts in relation to decentralized courts within the EU. Urszula has a diverse background in international relations and European Studies, having studied at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland, and European international law at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. Since starting her career at Utrecht University in February 2015, she has engaged in teaching various courses in EU law, including Judicial Protection and Enforcement of EU law, EU trade law, and external affairs related to EU law. Additionally, she has served in several roles, including general coordinator of educational matters within her department and member of the Exam Board at the School of Law. Urszula has also contributed her expertise to the European Commission in evaluating call proposals. Her research employs socio-legal methods to explore how law operates in practice, particularly within the realms of trade and judicial protection in international dispute resolution. She is involved in several research programs, including RENFORCE and the Montaigne Centre for the Rule of Law and Administration of Justice.
