Biography

Dr. Usama Ahmed Ali is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center with expertise in the full spectrum of colorectal surgery, including minimally invasive and open surgical procedures for a variety of colorectal conditions. His professional experience includes working as a general colorectal surgeon in the Netherlands and collaborating extensively at Columbia with Dr. Kiran and Dr. James Church in managing complex fistula diseases within the Anal Fistula Center and the Hereditary Cancer Familial Polyposis Center. His research interests focus on the surgical treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, and he holds a Master's degree in Evidence-Based Medicine from Oxford University. Dr. Ahmed Ali is a member of the Dutch Society of Surgery and the Dutch Society of Gastro-intestinal Surgery, and he has a keen interest in conditions such as colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, and various anorectal disorders.
