Biography

Usha Sundralingam obtained her undergraduate degree in Pure Chemistry from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2007 and continued her education with a master's degree in Drug Delivery at University College London in 2009. Following her education, she began her research career at UCL as a Pediatric Formulation Research Assistant for 1.5 years before moving back to Malaysia in 2011. She started her PhD at Monash University Malaysia, focusing on developing transdermal drug delivery systems, specifically Transfersome for treating breast cancer. Usha joined the Faculty of Medicine at SEGi University Malaysia as a Chemistry lecturer, where she supervised undergraduate students in collaboration with Monash University. In January 2020, she transitioned to the School of Pharmacy at Monash University Malaysia. Her research interests encompass the development of nanocarriers for drug delivery, with particular focus on topical transdermal applications and the use of natural products. She is keen on skin permeation of lipid formulations and bioactives employing specific skin models and synthetic membranes.
