Biography

Prof. Sundararaj joined the University of Calgary in August 2009. Previously, he was a Professor at the University of Alberta for 12 years and has 4 years of industrial experience with General Electric Company in the Plastics Division. He has served as a Visiting Professor at various institutions including the University of California - Santa Barbara and the University of Paderborn in Germany. His group CAPNA focuses on fundamental and applied research in polymer science and engineering, particularly in the areas of polymer blends and nanocomposites. His research interests also encompass recycling of plastics, emphasizing the circular economy and developing innovative approaches to utilize waste materials. Over the years, he has received numerous awards recognizing his commitment to teaching and research excellence.
