Biography

Dr. V G Krishna Inavalli is currently the Head of the Microscopy Group at the Centre for Cancer Immunology at the University of Southampton. With over 15 years of experience in optics and more than 8 years working in interdisciplinary environments, Dr. Inavalli has developed advanced light microscopy techniques, particularly in super-resolution microscopy to probe cellular biology. His work has significantly contributed to the understanding of morpho-molecular interactions at neuronal synapses and the exploration of the brain's extracellular space. He is actively developing cutting-edge technologies to investigate antibody-based cancer therapeutics. Dr. Inavalli received his PhD in Physics from the University of Hyderabad, India, where he developed a new method for generating structured light beams and studied their applications. He completed two postdoctoral positions, one at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA, where he created novel microscopy techniques for imaging biological tissues, and another at Nagerl Sibarita Labs at the Interdisciplinary Institute of Neurosciences (IINS), Bordeaux, France, focusing on super-resolution microscopy techniques in cellular neuroscience.
