Dr. Vahid Adibnia

Biography

Vahid Adibnia is an Assistant Professor and a Tier II Canada Research Chair at Dalhousie University in the Faculty of Dentistry. His research focuses on the development and characterization of functional polymeric biomaterials, integrating multidisciplinary approaches in medical sciences, chemistry, and engineering. Adibnia's work addresses pressing healthcare challenges by translating material science into practical, long-lasting medical solutions. His lab, the AdibLab, conducts extensive research on biomaterials, nanomaterials, colloids, and hydrogels, and emphasizes sustainable materials and interfacial phenomena such as lubrication and adhesion. By utilizing both in vitro and in vivo efficacy testing, he aims to enhance the performance of medical devices. The AdibLab is strategically located in downtown Halifax, facilitating collaboration with hospitals and industrial research centers to bridge laboratory findings with real-world healthcare applications.
