Professor Dr. Vahid Sadeghian

Biography

Vahid Sadeghian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a B.A.Sc. from the University of Tehran and both an M.A.Sc. and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the design and performance assessment of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, employing hybrid numerical-experimental simulations and nonlinear finite element analysis. He has extensively studied the behavior and modeling of modern concrete structures, including fiber-reinforced and self-compacting composites. Prof. Sadeghian has been actively involved in supervising graduate research students and is responsible for various teaching assignments that include courses on engineering mechanics, reinforced concrete design, and structural steel components. His commitment to advancing civil engineering education and research is evident through his contributions to both his students and ongoing research projects in the field.
