Biography

Valentina Guccini graduated in Chemistry from Sassari University in Italy and obtained her PhD in 2019 from Stockholm University, which included a short research visit to Seoul National University in South Korea and the ITAE Centre for Advanced Technology in Italy. Following her doctoral studies, she transitioned to Aalto University in Finland, where she worked as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2022, she was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the Research Council of Finland, which involved a year of mobility at SciLifeLab in Stockholm. In 2024, she joined Uppsala University as a tenured track Assistant Professor, also holding the title of Associate Senior Lecturer. Her research group focuses on developing bio-based materials for fossil-free energy applications through biotechnological processes, with a special emphasis on nanocellulose.
