Biography

Valeri Frolov is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Alberta, Canada. He obtained his Master’s degree in 1970 from Moscow State University and completed his PhD in 1973 at the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute in Russia. Frolov was a leading scientist at the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute from 1973 to 1992 and served as a part-time Professor at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology during the same period. He has also held the position of Visiting Professor at Copenhagen University from 1992 to 1993. Since 1993, he has been a faculty member at the University of Alberta. His research interests include classical quantum gravity, black hole physics, gravitational physics with large extra dimensions, hidden symmetries of higher dimensional black holes, the problem of black hole entropy, models of black hole interiors, quantum field theory in curved spacetime, quantum effects in accelerated frames, cosmological defects, interactions between strings, branes, and black holes, and the time machine problem involving wormholes.
