Biography

Valeria Parlatini's research focuses on identifying predictors of mental health outcomes to personalize and improve clinical care, particularly for children and adults with Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She is actively involved in teaching medical psychology students and supervises undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students. As a consultant, she specializes in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions, offering formulations for complex cases. Her current research includes leading investigations into predictors of treatment response in ADHD, utilizing various neuroimaging techniques alongside clinico-neuropsychological measures. Valeria has established international collaborations to integrate biological and clinical predictors with machine learning approaches, enhancing the translatability of her work to clinical settings. Additionally, she contributes to evidence synthesis to guide research and clinical practice, having led the largest systematic review/meta-analysis of diffusion imaging studies in ADHD and authored expert reviews on pharmacological treatments for individuals with ADHD. Valeria graduated from the prestigious San Raffaele University in Italy and completed her MSc in Neuroscience and PhD in Biological Psychiatry at King’s College London. She has received several international awards for her research and is dedicated to fostering the development of future clinicians and researchers through her educational initiatives.
