Dr. Valerie Baker

Biography

Valerie Lynn Baker is a Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she serves as the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Baker is highly regarded for her expertise in general infertility and assisted reproductive technologies, including in vitro fertilization (IVF). She completed her medical education at Harvard Medical School and furthered her training with a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco. Over her distinguished career, she has held faculty positions at UCSF, the University of Washington, and Stanford. Furthermore, Dr. Baker has taken on leadership roles in professional organizations, including serving as Vice President of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and chairing SART's Research Committee. She has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles focusing on fertility treatment factors and health outcomes for women undergoing fertility treatments. Her current research addresses issues related to the health outcomes of women and offspring as a consequence of fertility treatments, concentrating on improving success rates in assisted reproductive technologies.
