Biography

Harpist Valerie Muzzolini joined the School of Music faculty at the University of Washington in Fall 2011 as a part-time lecturer in the Instrumental Performance division. She is a member of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, where she has held the position of Principal Harp since the age of twenty-three. Muzzolini is in high demand both nationally and internationally, having performed as a guest Principal Harp with esteemed orchestras including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Nice Philharmonic, as well as appearing with the Philadelphia Orchestra. She has played at prestigious festivals worldwide, collaborating with renowned conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle and Kurt Masur. An active chamber musician, she is also a strong advocate for new music, regularly performing with the Seattle Chamber Players and the Seattle Chamber Music Society.
