Dr. Valerio Olgiati

Biography

Valerio Olgiati has taught at prestigious institutions including ETH Zurich, AA London, Cornell University, and Harvard Graduate School of Design in Cambridge. He is an honorary member of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects. Olgiati emphasizes the role of an architect as one who creates spaces, with his work reflecting the intersection of cultural and political aspects of architecture. His research interests involve the emergence of architecture from innovative ideas, asserting that the experience of space is the foundation for architectural form. Since 2008, he has operated independently with his wife, Tamara, managing their office in Flims. He is currently engaged in various commercial and cultural projects, as well as private house designs across Europe and the Middle East.
