Biography

Vanlal Thanzami obtained a PhD in Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire (UK) in 2004. His research activities are primarily focused on beliefs about aggression and their impact across cultures, specifically examining individualism-collectivism and loose-tight cultural dimensions. His interests include the predictors of different forms of aggression—direct, indirect, physical, reactive, and proactive. He has published his findings in reputable international journals such as Aggressive Behavior, Evolution and Human Behavior, and the American Journal of Human Biology, and has presented at international conferences. Following his PhD, Dr. Thanzami taught at the University of Central Lancashire until June 2014. He specializes in social, cross-cultural, and forensic psychology, and actively strives to disseminate his research findings through research-informed teaching. His current research interests encompass beliefs and culture concerning aggression, cyber-bullying, and health literacy in relation to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on community health development and health policy.
