Professor Ntziachristos’ research focuses on the development of novel optical and optoacoustic imaging, sensing, and computational methods aimed at accelerating discovery and advancing well-being through early detection of diseases, leading to improved prevention, diagnostics, and efficient treatment administration. He served as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Laboratory for Bio-Optics and Molecular Imaging at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital before becoming the Chair of Biological Imaging at the Technical University of Munich in 2007. He also directs the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging at the Helmholtz Centre in Munich.
