Professor Dr. Vasos Pavlika

Biography

Vasos Pavlika is a distinguished academic with over 35 years of experience in lecturing and higher education. Currently, he serves as the Head of Programmes for STEM Joint Programmes and a Departmental Lecturer at the Department of Continuing Education at the University of Oxford. Additionally, he directs the Studies in Physical Sciences. His academic journey includes significant roles at various institutions including University of East London, University of Gloucestershire, and London School of Economics. Vasos holds a BSc in Physics Mathematics, an MSc in Applied Mathematics, and has completed a two-volume PhD thesis in Mathematical Physics, focusing on Magnetostatics and Fluid Dynamics. Throughout his career, he has also acted as an external examiner and reviewer both nationally and internationally, contributing to the fields of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences. His research interests encompass Applied Mathematics, Magnetostatics, Fluid Dynamics, and Mathematical Modelling, with a keen focus on the historical aspects of Physics and Mathematics.
