Biography

Velisa Vesovic is a Professor of Transport Phenomena at Imperial College London. His academic career at Imperial began in 1993 as a Lecturer, progressing to Senior Lecturer from 1998 to 2007, and then to Reader from 2007 to 2011. He has been a member of the faculty since 1986, with prior experience as a Research Associate at Imperial College and at IHTM in Belgrade. His research interests focus on modeling transport phenomena relevant to the chemical, petrochemical, and environmental engineering sectors. His work spans fundamental research on molecular interactions that govern macroscopic observables, and applied research involving the modeling of the transport and dispersion of species in fluid media. He has a strong emphasis on modeling transport phenomena in oil reservoirs, particularly concerning condensates and heavy oil. Vesovic has published over eighty papers in refereed scientific literature and serves as a consultant in the chemical and petrochemical industries, specifically in the fields of computational modeling of transport phenomena. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, obtained in 1982, and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the same institution, completed in 1978.
