Professor Dr. Venkatesh Merwade

Biography

Venkatesh M. Merwade is a Professor in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Purdue University. He holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Agricultural Biological Engineering. His primary research areas include hydraulic and hydrologic engineering, with a specific focus on GIS applications, water resources engineering, river channels, surface water hydrology, river hydraulics, and cyberinfrastructure hydrology. He is particularly interested in water resources challenges in the developing world. He contributes to advancing methodologies within these fields and is involved in various educational and outreach activities aimed at improving water management practices.
