Dr. Venni Krishna

Biography

Venni Krishna is a Professorial Fellow at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, with a rich academic background spanning over 30 years in research, teaching, and consultancy. He specializes in Science and Technology Policy Studies, the History and Sociology of Science and Technology, and Innovation Studies. Krishna holds a PhD from the University of Wollongong in Australia and has contributed significantly to the academic community through extensive publications, including over 40 papers and five books. His notable works include 'Science, Technology Diffusion of Knowledge: Innovation Systems in Asia-Pacific' and 'Universities and National Innovation Systems: Experiences in the Asia Pacific'. Besides his role at UNSW, he has held prestigious visiting faculty positions at several institutions, including the National University of Singapore and McGill University in Canada. Krishna has also served in various advisory roles for international agencies such as UNESCO and the OECD, providing expert insight into research and innovation policies. His continued impact on science policy is reflected in his position as Editor-in-Chief of the international journal 'Science, Technology & Society'.
