Biography

Dr. Veronica Chiang leads the Brain Metastasis Program at Yale School of Medicine, a nationally unique initiative dedicated to the coordinated clinical management of brain metastases. This program involves a multidisciplinary team of experts in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Pathology, and Neuro-Oncology. The team holds weekly Tumor Board meetings that are accredited for Continuing Medical Education (CME) to discuss clinical and research considerations surrounding the management of cancer patients with brain and spine metastases. A specialist in standard neurosurgical management and Gamma Knife radiosurgery, Dr. Chiang focuses on using targeted radiation to treat brain tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissue, particularly in cases of melanoma and lung cancer. With significant experience in Laser Thermal Ablation (LTA), Dr. Chiang employs this innovative technique to treat brain lesions with minimal invasiveness. She is also a key participant in several clinical trials aimed at enhancing the management of brain metastases and related complications. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Chiang is committed to advancing research in the field of radiation oncology and its effects on brain neoplasms, with numerous published works demonstrating her contributions to this vital area of medicine.
