Biography

Verónica Román-Reyna is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology at Penn State University. Her significant work includes studies on important staple crops like cassava, potato, oil palm, rice, wheat, and barley, addressing issues like microbial dynamics, genomic epidemiology, and plant pathogens resistant to antimicrobials. She has led collaborative projects in multiple countries, is actively involved in research training, and has developed courses on microbiome analysis and atmospheric environments for graduate students. Her current projects include investigating Potato soft rot blackleg and Goss's bacterial wilt.
