Biography

Véronique Munoz-Dardé is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at University College London. She is also a member of the Department of Philosophy at UC Berkeley. Her research focuses on practical reasoning, ethics, and political philosophy. In recent years, she has written articles addressing a range of ethical problems from different levels of abstraction, including matters of aggregation in practical reasoning, the concept of transitivity in comparative judgments, and the implications of risk assessment. She explores the justification of taxation and the nature of regret that reveals the role of values in practical reasoning, as well as the significance of social goods in universities and museums. Munoz-Dardé has held visiting positions at the Department of Philosophy at Harvard University and at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. She is the author of 'La justice sociale: le libéralisme égalitaire de John Rawls' (Armand Colin, 2001) and is currently finalizing a book manuscript provisionally entitled 'Regulation Intimacy.'
