Biography

Vesna Bojicic-Dzelilovic is a Research Fellow at the LSE Global Governance, specializing in informal economic practices and post-conflict economic recovery. She has contributed significantly to the understanding of civil society in the context of the Western Balkans and has co-edited works such as 'Transnationalism Balkans' (Routledge, 2008) and 'Persistent State Weakness in the Global Age' (Ashgate, 2009). Her forthcoming publication, 'Civil Society Transitions in the Western Balkans' (Palgrave Macmillan), highlights critical developments in the region's socio-economic landscape. Vesna's research expertise encompasses human security, economic political transition, informal economies, and post-conflict reconstruction, engaging with the complexities faced by societies in transition. She is fluent in multiple languages including English, Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian, which enhances her capacity to engage deeply with diverse communities and stakeholders.
