Biography

Vicki Squires is a Professor and Associate Dean of Research, Graduate Support, and International Initiatives in the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan. She began her professional career as a special education teacher and vice-principal in Saskatoon Public Schools. After completing her PhD, she joined the University of Saskatchewan, initially serving as the Manager of Planning, Program Development, and Assessment within the Student Enrolment Services Division. Her extensive experience in administration and governance in higher education led to her faculty appointment in the Department of Educational Administration in September 2014. Dr. Squires has developed an undergraduate certificate and a Master’s degree in leadership, launched in 2016, and has actively mentored graduate students. Her research focuses on post-secondary education leadership, student well-being, and organizational development, with numerous published articles addressing various challenges in higher education. As an Assistant Editor for the Higher Education Leadership division of the Journal of Global Education Research, she contributes significantly to academic discourse. Dr. Squires has presented at both national and international conferences, sharing insights on student transitions and mental health in educational settings. With a strong background in policy development and qualitative research methodologies, she remains engaged in collaborative projects aimed at enhancing student success and well-being across post-secondary institutions.
