Biography

Victor Bekkers is a Professor of Public Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he holds the chair in the empirical study of public policy and public policy processes. He is also the founding father and dean of the Erasmus Graduate School of Social Sciences and the Humanities. Bekkers completed his studies in political science and public administration at Nijmegen University, graduating with honors in 1987. He serves as the coordinator for LIPSE, an initiative under the EU's 7th framework program focused on social innovation in the public sector, and is the programme director of the research group Comparative Public Services Innovation (CPSI). His research interests involve the integration and use of information communication technologies and the new social media in public policy processes, as well as the social innovation challenges that arise within this context.
