Biography

Victor Kumar received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and has held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Michigan and the University of Toronto. His primary philosophical interests include ethics, cognitive science, and evolutionary theory, alongside secondary interests in epistemology, philosophy of mind, feminist philosophy, and philosophy of race. His published work includes contributions to journals such as Ethics, Nous, Philosophers’ Imprint, Philosophical Studies, Philosophical Quarterly, Analysis, and Cognition. He was awarded the Peter Paul Career Development Award at Boston University in 2018. His recent projects focus on themes like moral progress, moral luck, nudges, moral disgust, and moral learning. He is the author of the book 'Evolution, Morality, and Moral Progress', published by Oxford University Press in 2022. Victor is the director of the Mind and Morality Lab and is also a member of the interdisciplinary Moral Psychology Research Group.
