Biography

Victor Neira Vidal graduated from Universidad de La Frontera Medical School, Chile in 2008. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Universidad de La Frontera in 2012, followed by a fellowship in Cardiology at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in 2014. Neira Vidal pursued additional training in Electrophysiology at Universidad de La Frontera, finishing in 2017, and moved to Canada in 2018 to undertake research and clinical fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology at Queen's University. He successfully completed his fellowship in Adult Cardiac Electrophysiology in 2020 and obtained his Diplomate from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Universidad de La Frontera and was the Head of the Electrophysiology Service at Dr. Hernan Henriquez Aravena's Hospital in Temuco, Chile from 2020 to 2022. In 2022, Neira Vidal joined the Division of Cardiology at Queen’s University, becoming a staff cardiologist and later promoted to the Head of the Arrhythmia Service at Kingston Health Science Centre in 2023. His clinical and research interests include catheter ablation strategies, complex cardiac arrhythmias, and novel arrhythmia mapping strategies. He is actively involved in medical education and mentoring, contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.
