Biography

Victor M. Preciado is an Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Departments of Electrical & Systems Engineering and Computer & Information Science. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science under the supervision of Professor George Verghese, with a minor in Physics. His research interests lie at the intersection of Networks, Dynamics, and Data Sciences, with applications in epidemic modeling and control, socio-technical networks, and social systems engineering. He has held positions as a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley and the Santa Fe Institute, as well as a visiting professor at the Courant Institute for Mathematical Science at NYU. Preciado's work has garnered several accolades, including the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2017 and the IEEE Control Systems Magazine Paper Award in 2018. He serves as an Associate Editor for multiple journals including the IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering and the IEEE Transactions on Control of Networked Systems. He has also held leadership roles, such as General Chair for the Penn Workshop on Network Resilience.
