Dr. Victoria Addis

Biography

Victoria Marie Addis is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Penn Medicine, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of various types of glaucoma. She completed her medical education at Thomas Jefferson University and has undergone extensive residency training at prestigious institutions such as Albert Einstein Medical Center and Medstar Washington Hospital Center, followed by a fellowship at the University of Michigan's W.K. Kellogg Eye Center. Dr. Addis is actively engaged in clinical practice at the Scheie Eye Institute, part of Penn Presbyterian, where she is committed to providing high-quality care to patients aged 65 and older. She is recognized for her straightforward approach and thorough understanding of complex ophthalmic conditions, often helping patients navigate their diagnoses and treatment options effectively. Dr. Addis is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Her research interests lie primarily in the various forms of glaucoma, particularly angle closure glaucoma, normal tension glaucoma, and secondary glaucomas, as well as advancements in glaucoma surgery and laser treatments. She has been acknowledged for her contributions to the field, being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Addis maintains hospital privileges at the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where she treats patients both in the hospital and outpatient settings.
