Biography

Victoria Chang is a poet and the director of the Poetry@Tech program at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she holds the Margaret T. Henry C. Bourne Chair. Her latest poetry collection, 'Back World,' published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux Corsair Books U.K. in 2024, has garnered significant acclaim, being a finalist for the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award and receiving the Forward Prize for Best Collection. Chang's prior works, including 'Trees Witness Everything' and 'Dear Memory,' have also received numerous accolades, including being named favorite nonfiction book of 2021 by Electric Literature and a New York Notable Book for 'OBIT.' Her poetry has been translated into multiple languages, including Italian, Chinese, and Spanish. Chang has been awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship and the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, among other literary honors. She has a diverse educational background, holding an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College, an M.B.A. from Stanford University, and both an M.A. and B.A. in East Asian Studies from Harvard University and the University of Michigan, respectively.
