Biography

Victoria Chester is a Full Professor and Co-Director of the Andrew Marjorie McCain Human Performance Laboratory at the University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Kinesiology. She earned her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 2004, and previously obtained her Master's degree from Laurentian University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph, both in Biomechanics. Professor Chester has been a pivotal figure in the establishment of the UNB/Stan Cassidy Centre Rehabilitation Paediatric Gait Team, a project aimed at advancing rehabilitation practices. Her research has been extensively funded by various sources such as the NSERC Discovery Grant and MITACS. Some of her key research interests include gait analysis, wearable sensor technology, and the application of machine learning for gait classification. She has contributed significantly to the field through numerous publications in various esteemed journals, addressing important challenges in biomechanics and rehabilitation science.
