Dr. Victoria Handa

Biography

Victoria Handa is a distinguished professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins Medicine, where she also serves as the Director of the Women’s Center for Pelvic Health and Reconstructive Surgery. She has made significant contributions to the field of urogynecology, focusing on pelvic floor disorders and female incontinence. Dr. Handa is known for her clinical expertise in both surgical and nonsurgical treatments for pelvic organ prolapse and related conditions. With an extensive educational background, she earned a Master of Health Science in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Her research interests include the management of pelvic floor disorders, epidemiology, and improving the quality of life for women suffering from these conditions. Throughout her career, she has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Handa is actively involved in scientific societies, including the American Urogynecologic Society and the International Urogynecology Association, and serves on the editorial board of 'Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.' She has received multiple accolades for her teaching and mentorship, reflecting her dedication to advancing knowledge in her field.
