Dr. Victoria Hudson

Biography

Victoria Hudson is a Lecturer at the Department of Defence Studies at King's College London. She has a comprehensive academic background, having received her PhD from the Centre for Russian and East European Studies at the University of Birmingham in 2014. Her research interests lie in the fields of international relations, politics, conflict security, soft power, and public diplomacy, with a particular focus on Russia, Ukraine, and Europe. She has conducted significant fieldwork in Ukraine, engaging with various stakeholders and conducting surveys and focus groups. In addition to her research, Victoria contributes to the teaching programs within her department, offering insights particularly into Russian foreign security policy and strategic culture. She has collaborated on significant projects such as the Artists and Academics Social Change initiative and is involved with the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies. With numerous publications focused on Russia's cultural influence and soft power in the region, she is a recognized expert in her field. Victoria is also active in sharing her findings through creative means, such as art exhibitions, which aim to make academic research accessible to broader audiences.
