Biography

Victoria Lowe is a Senior Lecturer in Drama and Film Studies at the University of Manchester. Her teaching interests cover contemporary British cinema, the relationships between stage and screen, acting, and contemporary UK performance practices. She specializes in British cinema and television, with particular expertise in archives used in research, including the Robert Donat archive and the Basil Dean archive. Before her academic career, Lowe worked as a producer for drama on radio, television, and film, and as a script reader for BBC Wales. Her research interests include early television, stage/screen adaptation, intermediality, and screen acting. Lowe is currently engaged in a project titled 'Granadaland Revisited: Regional Identity, Innovation and Creativity in UK Broadcasting 1956-2004'.
